NEW LATE ARRIVAL SCHEDULE

A committee met to work on a new schedule for Late Arrival Days.

Schedule that was recommended:

 

Monday:            per 1-6

Tuesday:             per 1-6

Wednesday:  per 1-6

 

Thursday:             Per 3 10:45-12:10

                        Lunch 12:10-12:45

                        Per 6 12:50-2:15

 

Friday             Per 1 7:45-9:09

                        Per 2 9:14-10:38

                        Lunch 10:38-11:18

                        Per 4 11:23-12:47

                        Per 5 12:52-2:15

 

Questions:

  1. How many are not content with current schedule?
  2. How will decision be made?
  3. What about time for interventions with students?
  4. How will this impact part time staff?
  5. Can we get attendance facts for late arrival days?

 

Department leaders will discuss this schedule with their departments and Leadership will discuss it again at the next meeting

 

 

GETTING TO GRADUATION

The event last year was very successful. The district sponsored it last year.  This year the schools are responsible.  The purpose is to reach out to all parents and present Focus Groups for them to get information, i.e., Culminating Project, College Applications and Financial Aid, How to communicate with teachers, etc.

 

Decisions need to be made as to how this will look at Sehome and possible dates.  Department chairs are asked to come up with some possibilities for Focus Groups and e-mail this information to Phyllis.

 

 

 

 

CULMINATING PROJECT

There have been revisions to the Rubrics but these will not be put into place until next year. 

Questions:

  1. Can we continue to do the scholarly paper in the Junior year
  2. Do all high schools have to do the same thing or can high schools do what works best for them?

 

 

TRIGGER OPTIONS

Due to large class sizes we have quite a few teachers that are eligible for Trigger Funds.   Teachers are being very creative and collaborative in the use of these funds

 

 

COACHING MODEL

Leadership team was asked to collect feedback about our coaching model.

 

 

HOMECOMING

The staff was sent an e-mail with homecoming schedules and information.  There will be a speaker on Tuesday.   Teachers are required to keep their classes together and sit with them.  A seating chart for the gym will be sent out.

 

 

PARENT CONNECT

Department chairs were asked to make sure their entire department is 100% on board with Parent Connect.
