LEADERSHIP MINUTES

October 11, 2007

STAFFINGS

There was discussion about the difficulty staff has with morning staffings.  Staff would also like to see the follow-up results.  After much discussion it was decided the Department chairs should discuss this with there departments and it will discussed at the next Leadership meeting.

EARLY RELEASE BELL SCHEDULE

Maria Griggs and a committee will draft up a proposal for bell schedules on Early Release days and the staff will vote on the proposal.

OPEN HOUSE DEBRIEF

Open House was very well attended this year.  The parents liked the breakout sessions.  Suggestions for next year:

Ø        Have some parking attendants – students could do this

Ø        Provide child care

Ø        Make sure the lights in the walkways, especially downstairs are bright enough

ALARM CODES

There have been numerous problems with the alarms this year due to the codes all being incorrect.  The codes have been sent to Mike Anderson and will be entered into the system

BUDGET

The enrollment count came in slightly lower than planned.  This change resulted in a $3,907. decrease from the budget numbers we used for planning last spring.

TECHNOLOGY

The new laptop computers are at the district office until all the routers have been installed.  Then will then be on carts for classroom use.  In addition to the computers each cart will have a LCD projector and printer.  There will also be 91 computers coming for student use.   The Tech Committee will problem solve ways to make sure the new computers are not stolen.

PARENT CONNECT

Department Leaders were asked to make sure everyone is on parent connect and what additional training is needed.  Betty Miller will be asked to come and show staff what parents and students see when they look at Parent Connect.

THEFT

There has been an increase in theft this year.  Teachers are reminded to make sure they keep things locked up.   It was suggested the Student Council work on ways to inform students on ways they can prevent losing their things.
