SHS Site Council Meeting

Minutes

 

Present: Phyllis Textor, Matt Goldfogel, Shawn Doan, Cathy Moran, Ginger Thompson, Jane Wynn, Bobbie Jaffe

 

Absent: Patrice Clark, Steve Globerman

 

The meeting was facilitated by Phyllis.

 

Minutes from the March 14, 2007 meetings were accepted with the following corrections:

            Bobbie Jaffe was absent

            Notation that the above baseline funding requests were not listed in order of assigned priority

 

PTSA Report – Bobbie Jaffe

            Election of next year’s officers has taken place.  Karin Saadat will be president and rep to Site Council

            Teacher grants were decided on

                        Upgrade on Rhino software for math dept

                        Camera, etc to art dept for tile designing project

                        Music stand holder to music dept

                        $500 for textbooks for PAC program

                        $500 for equipment (of their choice) for music dept

            Garage sale last weekend generated about $600 per school

            Sr. Prom this weekend

            WASL’s are over!

 

Principal’s Report – Phyllis Textor

            Recognition of Matt Goldfogel—Washington Scholar of Distinction

            WASL math requirement delayed until 2013, also science

            Segmented Math will begin next yr for 11th graders who did not pass WASL math

            Several education issues are on governor’s desk awaiting her action
